I still can't get this thing to work

When the screen freezes up none of the buttons do anything.

I have read the WebOS driver page multiple times. I don't know if I understand this sentence: (NOTE: WOL will not work via WiFi if myServer is on ethernet so no Power On will work). I think it only means that the TV won't power on if the TV is on Wifi. Mine is not.

Having read the Device Configuration section again I don't see any mention of needing to look up each driver's documentation. They just fly through adding each. The Roku used in the example needs it's room assignment and unique name. That's it. What would make me think that every other device would need more than that?

I've tried following the documentation and gotten nowhere. I've tried following the videos and been told not to. I've tried asking for help and gotten a LOT and I thank you for it but I just don't understand this thing.

Did you enable External Control on the TV?
Are you able to Ping the TV from myServer? ie: are the two networked together?
Are you sure you have a WebOS TV?
Did you send an authentication message from the Driver to the TV and did you see a popup and did you accept it?

What's in the Event Log when you try to send a command to the TV?

Nvidia Shield ADB Configuration:
Enable debugging
 1. Goto Settings on the Shield.2. Go across to About in Device.3. Go down to Build and click on it 10 times until it says you are in development mode.
 
ADB over USB
 
1. Make sure you have performed the above steps "Enable debugging"
2. Goto Settings
3. Go Across to Developer options
4. Go down to Debugging
5. Toggle USB debugging to On

You apparently didn't do the above as the AndroidTV driver says "Unauthorized"

BTW, all control systems to control a Shield - the above is required.  So none of this is a myServer / SmartRemote issue.

I haven't touched this stuff since my last post 3.5 months ago. I was hoping some time and updates would clear things up. Everything is the same.

I think it would be best to reset my remote and server to factory and start fresh. When I type "reset" in the documentation search box nothing comes up. Can someone please give me clear instructions on how to factory reset these devices?

I TV into the system and overall it seem things are working fine....so what's the current issue? Please be specific.
I see that AppleTV driver has not been configured properly.  You MUST follow the documentation.

Setting up the permissions seems to be missing (the important parts of the documentation).

There have been many, many updates of features, of fixes, of documentation this week, never mind over the last 3 months.

Of course it is weird.

I just looked at the remote which was sitting on the charger and now the Shield is active and the channel buttons are on the screen. This was not the case an hour ago. So I tried it out. I had to power the system on with the old Harmony. The remote works for the Shield and will change the volume on the HTP-1 as well. But that is it. I can't get back to the device screen and the remote did not power anything on or off. It is stuck on the Shield.
