I still can't get this thing to work

Thanks again for putting up with me. In the examples in the setup doc that you linked to none of that was mentioned. It is just add Roku. Done. Except for the Shield needing debugging enabled I didn't know I'd have to look for specific instructions on each device. At each step I get stuck then spin my wheels because I have no idea what the next step is.

For the record I haven't put much effort into the AppleTV at this point but the server found it so I added it. And there is definitely a Logitech hub on the network but I was avoiding using it in this setup. I'm not sure if you just changed the Shield Type but is is set to ShieldTV.

Re: the TV somehow the MAC address had been set to the TV name. I thought it was weird when I saw it today but it isn't something I would have done intentionally.

The ShieldTV shows up on the remote now. When I select it I get this screen then I can't do anything the physical Home and Back buttons won't bring me back to the home screen. It froze earlier in the day when I selected the TV. I have had to restart the remote multiple times.
 





I changed the MAC address for the TV but nothing changed. I'm assuming when I select the TV and press the physical power button it is supposed to turn on the TV because there is no button on the screen to do it. But none of these buttons on the screen do anything

I deleted and re-added the TV using Discover. The TV populated with the correct MAC address. It shows up on the Remote with the new name I used (AtticTV). It still does not work. As far as I can tell I have the TV settings correct. The TV has wired Ethernet.

I have restarted the Server and Remote. I tried using the Remote on the Shield again. It is stuck on that page again (in the middle photo in my last post)

Every driver / template / app has documentation on Allonis.com's Support site.
No single document speaks to everything.,
For example, search for AndroidTV Driver for the docs on the specific names needed.
And search for AppleTV for the detailed permissions granting steps.

Every device has it's own pecularities. Most drivers have a link to it's documentation.
