Button backlight times out while still using the remote

I've been using the new button backlight feature the last couple of nights and it's really nice to have but I have noticed one quirk about it.  When I pick up the remote it turns the button backlight on and it stays on for the timeout specified.  But what ends up happening is I pick up the remote and 15 seconds later the button lights turn off no matter what, even if I'm still using the remote.  I have to set the remote down and pick it back up for the button lights to come back on.  Shouldn't the timer reset every time I push a button?  If not could that be added to the list of improvements.

I was discussing this with my wife last night and we would like to see the timer reset upon a keypress as well.

I see the upgraded SmartRemote's should have been received...all going well?  Out of the box yet?

@davep I don't begin to know how the backlight timer works under the hood but is it possible to modify it to reset the timer upon a keypress?

Dave/David - Any update on this?  It would really be nice if the button backlights stayed on while I was using them.

This would be a great improvement!
