Hmmm, interesting, that might work!

Bumping to keep this alive since it's been 3 weeks since the last post. Has anyone at Allonis had a chance to investigate yet to see what the issue is and if it can be resolved?

Put WakeupMyRemote|SmartRemoteName in your Macro?

The problem isn't waking the remote up. That happens with 100% reliability when the remote is sleeping and I pick it up. The problem is keeping the backlight awake while I'm using the remote.
I could bind the WakeUpMyRemote command to a hard button and press it each time the backlight times out, but that's a pretty ridiculous way of going about it.
Is it not possible to slave the backlight to the screen, where the backlight stays on so long as the touchscreen is awake? Since the screen is tied to the accelerometer that would solve everything.

I can certainly do that, but I'm not understanding how it will stop the backlight from turning off while I'm in the middle of using the remote.Put WakeupMyRemote|SmartRemoteName in your Macro?

OK after thinking about this suggestion for a bit I've come up with a semi-solution. I changed each button into a macro, where the remote sends the intended command, and then immediately sends a WakeUpMyRemote command.
I was a little concerned that this was going to flood myServer with commands and overwhelm it while pressing and holding a button but it seems to be OK, at least in my limited testing so far. It's inelegant but it solves for the backlight turning off mid-use. I pity any new owners who aren't familiar with the way myDesigner works with myServer macros though lol.

Maybe we can create a mod for that behavior. There is just so much on the plate right now...
What's weird is I use the SmartRemote all day long, and longer than anyone. Never seen this issue.
Getting ready for the InfoComm 2025 trade show in Orlando. Would be great to meet you all! Mid June.
