When I setup my QNAP as a NextPVR server, I increased the RAM, as well as installing an SSD.  So, all of that was there when I installed MyServer.  I'm not sure how much it helped the performance of MyServer, or if it's just overkill.

Well I've taken the plunge and created a Debian 12 VM under Proxmox and gone through the installation notes. myServer starts up fine so that's a good start. Tomorrow I'll start configuring and adding some drivers.

Are you using the minimal or desktop version of debian ?

Reluctantly I went with the desktop version as the Pi version of myServer runs on a desktop OS and I get the impressions it relies on some desktop things. I don't know enough about it but e.g. you can see references to DBUS in the myServer logs and in the past you didn't seem to be able to use DBUS without a desktop environment.

Not off to a good start, I cannot download the linux package. I click on the links and nothing happens. ????

What linux package? myServer? We are updating that content now.
