Rackmount myServer - whole server unresponsive

Because not all functions are contained within myServer that aids in installation / debugging / features.
Slowly getting there but not yet.
And there has been no downside of the desktop.

Happened again. Nothing useful in the OS syslog - logging just stops then indicates the Pi rebooted, gets so far (with myServer saying it's initialised) then everything just freezes (myServer and OS level) until I yank the power.

I'm going to have to reimage the Pi and hope that fixes it.

I've been fighting the same issue on my Backup installation. It runs for days and then just stops. I thought it was related to heat because my enclosure was running warmer than my production unit. I really haven't done much with it due to the data mirroring functions not being fully implemented. My backup server is a barebones basic install with nothing running on it...

Mine's in the official rackmount case and is usually at about 39 - 40 ℃. I've setup a whole checkmk monitoring installation just to try to get to the bottom of this and the temperature graph doesn't show any kind of spike before everything dies.

 

Nothing in the thread gives any suggestions, but you might try changing the wall power supply as it's a cheap change, and will answer the question if it's a power issue. Buy an official Pi 3.5Amp or better power supply. And ensure the power supply is fed by a UPS. myServer can monitor some UPSs which is the best solution so myServer can gracefully shut down equipment and itself if the UPS battery goes below "20%".

You should set a 70C warning as that is when a Pi starts to slow down CPU to control thermal damage.
