You smartremote was pointing to a myServer on a different IP than what myServer is currently on. That suggests that you haven't reserved or static set myServer IP address or you misconfigured smartremote myServer settings

We installed smartremote.apk again as something was messed up.
Launch the smartremote.apk on the smartremote desktop and accept all permissions (if they aren't showing as requesting when you look at the smartremote screen.

Set the smartremote myServer ip to the actual myServer IP.

Reconfigure your network so all devices are either static or reserved DHCP.  If you don't know how to do this, get a network savvy person you trust to assist.  This is fundamental to a reliable system.

Because of recent networking issues and trying to get these devices working I had deleted all my reservations while trying new DHCP configurations. The devices now have reserved DHCP.

I accepted all permissions and SR loaded and I am left with the same problem. When I hit the 3 bar menu in the top left the choices are Configure Wifi, App Settings and Exit SmartRemote. The only command that does anything is Exit. So I can't set the SR myServer IP on the remote.

Things were corrupted on the SmartRemote and had to be manually rebuilt. ForcedUninstall process wasn't done in correct sequence. But things seem to be working again.

Following on from a problem I had I've gotten round to turning the backlight on and I am having a problem. I've made sure I'm on the latest template and myserver. I've followed the instructions and it does what is described but when the process is completed the 3 dots just gives me Setup WiFi, Exit Smartremote & Change Settings

I just noticed the same thing.  The latest SmartRemote template about.html file doesn't have the backlight options; somewhere along the line they got dropped and an old version of the file was included in the template.

To fix it, I went into my archived SmartRemote folder on MyServer, found the archived template that came out with the button backlight update, and copied the archived about.html file into the current SmartRemote folder.  I updated the project and the Backlight options are back.

One thing I did notice is if the screen is on the button backlight won't turn on when the remote is moved.  I ended up changing the display sleep time to 15 seconds so they both go off together.

Can someone please catch me up on this issue.  I gather there is a setting under about.html that can turn on/off the backlighting.   According to the Server updates page I have the latest template installed.  I only have 3 options under the "about" scene page - Setup WiFi, Exit Smartremote and Change Settings.
Thx, Chris
