Interesting.  I didn't need to do this.  But if I check my machine, the frontail.service file does exist, with the contents described.

Perhaps this is because I used Ubuntu?
I don't see how a Ubuntu file could contain this:
Code:
ExecStart=frontail --ui-highlight --disable-usage-stats /home/allonis/applications/myServer/logs/myServer.log
so I guess it got set up by myServer somehow.

Yes.  The file is located in applications/myServer/data/linux.x64.

The instructions said to copy the files from there into lib/systemd/system.

I copied all three service files, not just myServer.service and myInstaller.service.

Which instructions? I was following  allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=416 and don't see that there - those instructions get you to create myServer.service and myInstaller.service by editing them.

Actually now I see you have at the end of your forum post "8.  Copy the myServer files and start the Services" but I don't see that in the 'official' instructions I was looking at.

That documentation didn't exist when I did this.  I was working from this documentation:

allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=248

Success!!!!!

The Virtual Machine instructions did not have the instructions for copying the services...It had you manually create two of them, but the Frontail.service was missing. When I added that one and started the service...it worked! The Terminal also worked...not sure why, but it did.

LOL - just looked back at missed messages and saw this was suggested.  I'm just glad it's fixed.

Ok, now for an important question.  What are the steps to migrate from Server A to Server B?  Is it as simple as doing a server backup (via the server command) and restoring it on the new device?

Thanks David!  You didn't need to chime in...I realize that we are doing things outside normal guidelines.   FYI - I want to move to my NAS in a Virtual Environment so I can clone/backup the image and do regular snapshots.  My NAS is a high end QNAP that has a ton of power.

Update - I followed the instructions and most of the stuff was restored.  The Drivers were not brought over, is that normal?
Update2 - When I added the drivers it brought over the correct config.

One final issue..... The AppleTV driver is giving me fits.  I installed pyatv in a virtual environment, but still getting errors with the driver.

From the log.
Error in MoveNext - Cannot assign requested address (localhost:41144)
-and-
30/01/2025 19:42:44.42 · ERROR · AppleTV.SendCommand - Error in SendCompanion - An error occurred trying to start process 'atvremote' with working directory '/home/allonis/applications/myServer'. No such file or directory

Any guidance in the proper way to install pyatv?
