Basic functions of SmartRemote not working.

Ok, I hope I make sense.

I have done everything the instructions say to do.

Updated all software, created a room, auto discovered each device in device drivers, each device has a static IP, remote is fully booting (to my knowledge) and is allowing room selection and showing each device button/tile (all 4).My components are a Sonos Playbar, LG Web OS TV, Amazon FireTV Cube and an Apple TV. Problem: the only component the is working at all is the FireTV Cube, not sure it’s fully functional since is can’t really use the remote due to the lack of control of the TV and sound bar.Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I am very frustrated that the basic functions are not working and unless I’m missing something in the instructions, which I have re-read many many times, I can’t figure out what’s wrong.FYI, I have not modified anything in My Designer 6 or even tried to figure out how to make a macro to act like a Harmony Elite remote the controls everything simultaneously without having to select each device tile to control it.Thanks in advance.

I was looking deeper into the forum as the search doesn't seem to pick up everything I’m looking for or my search verbiage is not sufficient.

Anyway, let me work on some of the things I found in a different tread question. I’ll get back to you, I do want to figure this out, just like the other customer said, the info needed, is all over and when we don’t know what to ask, where to look and we don’t know what we don’t know. I’m determined to figure this thing out.

Under Drivers, select Configure for a specific driver.  Then select Driver Command Testing.

Depending on the device, there may be a few predefined buttons you can use to see if the driver is working.  You can also build a command and send it to the device using the menus.

Verify the drivers are working before trying to configure the remote.

OK, Worked thru each specific device setup doc, I now have my LG WebOS TV, FireTV Cube and Sonos soundbar working when i test them in each devices 'drivers menu' for each type of device, under "Driver Command Testing".

The issue is that the Smart Remote will boot, it loads each device tile, but only the FireTV tile will control the FireTV device, the remote will not control the Sonos soundbar or the LG WebOS TV. So 1 out of 3 isn't bad.

Please advise on next trouble shooting steps.

Reminder the remote was only controlling the Fire/tv before. Maybe need to clear and start over?

Now that you know the drivers are installed correctly and working, the next step is to see what is in the log file when you attempt to use the remote.

On the dashboard, turn on logging and check the Verbose box.

Depending on your myServer version, thee may or may not be a Live Log button.  If there is, you can use it.  If not, the log file is stored in the myServer/logs folder.

Compare the log file you get when you use the remote with the log file you get when you use Driver Command Testing.

If you are seeing errors and not sure why, post your log file here and someone can offer further suggestions.

Thanks cjisble, i'm really questioning this product.

So frustrating, i wish harmony didn't discontinue their elite remote, good thing my 2nd one still works.

So now every night when i have time to work on this, i have to re-pair the one device that works via the remote (FireTV Cube)

So tonight i re-pair, was working with the "device test' and the SmartRemote while watching the event log. the remote wouldn't return to the home screen where i could select another device to test.

So i rebooted the remote, same issue one in the FireTV tile, stuck in there, but it would still control the device, the back arrow that used to return the remote to the home screen is the back button for the fireTV.

So i decided to check for updates, downloaded the "My Server" update, it seems there is a new one everyday? then installed and it auto rebooted.

I then checked for Lunix updates and installed them.

rebooted everything again, now in the driver menu its all blank? in the software update screen they don't show as loaded? But the devices still show up in the sources and apps by room inventory. Tried to reload and nope.

oh and my other post on the HDMI out not working hasn't been responded to for 3 weeks.

I have to stop for tonight getting more upset , thinking about boxing it up and looking for something else.

If anyone is interested in a rackmount setup with 2 remotes let me know, very frustrating.
