So far my remotes seem to be working today.

Any update or suggestions, this behavior is still happening. It may have reduced in frequency, but every day or so I notice one of the remotes won't turn off on it's own. Using the applet doesn't set the value... I need to exit Smartremote and do it within the Android OS.

My remote has started doing this in the last 6 days or so.
It worked mint until I added an android tv box to the driver.. now the screen won't turn off anymore.

I have not seen this yet on my remote. I am curious when it gets stuck like that if the "SendKey SLEEP" command would work. Might be worth a try, as it would be easier to invoke rather than exiting the SmartRemote app.
I have that SendKey setup to turn my remote off automatically when I place it on the charger.

For the past couple of days I have not had the issue where the remotes will not turn off. The only change I made was to turn off "Adaptive Brightness" in the Android settings. Not sure if this makes any difference or even if the setting actually worked. On the bright side the remotes are working as they should.
*Update* Nevermind....it stayed on again last night. I have no idea what is clearing the setting....

If your SmartRemotes have been added to the AndroidTV driver it might be the driver trying to check status on the remote causing it to stay on.
I just modified the driver to no longer try to check what the remote is doing. Please, also make sure the the device type for the remote is "SmartRemote".
Let's see if this helps.
