JVC Projector Driver

I don't see a specific section in the forum for the JVC driver so hopefully this is an ok spot.  Today I went to try and use my other IP based remote control to change some settings on my JVC and it wasn't working.  I eventually tracked it down to the fact that MyServer6 was constantly connecting to the projector so nothing else could communicate with it.  Would it be possible to have the driver drop the connection for some amount of time between queries for the state?

I can modify the driver to drop its connection when the projector gets turned off and then only connect again when it is told to power off. I've got an issue with the driver not working correctly on some models. I'll have this option in in the next release.

My JVC is fairly old so it uses this 3-step sequence for all commands. =12.0ptFirst I hit connect (192.168.1.33, port 20554)  The projector responds with PJ_OK
=12.0ptThen I enter the command “PJREQ” to which the projector responds “PJACK”
=12.0ptAt this time, within 5 seconds, I can send a hex command or in fact any number of hex commadns as long as i don't delay more than 5 seconds between commands.  For example, the “ON” command is “21 89 01 50 57 31 0A” and the projector turns on.  It will continue to listen for 5 seconds past any command and then it closes the connection.  To issue another command after that, you must go back to the beginning and open the communication again. I don't know if the newer JVC projectors act this way.
There is a program called Hercules which you can use to pre-enter these commands and test it out.  Works great.  look up hw-group.com

Thanks to Dave's work revamping the JVC driver, my projector once again responds correctly to commands. Now I need to build a sled for the anamorphic lense and integrate that into the macro so that when I switch to 16:9, it slides the lense out and resizes the projector to full screen.

I just released the updated driver. I was waiting to make sure it worked. The new version does not attempt to maintain a constant connection to the projector. Rather it just connects, does its handshake and then sends the commands. The projector will then close its connection. Hopefully this will work as well on all models.

Hi Dave - Just tried the new JVC driver with my NZ7, everything is working unfortunately it still maintains a constant connection, blocking other tools from connecting to the projector.
