Is SmartRemote been discovered by the AndroidTV driver and it's ID is 3 there?

So, by removing the < > from the command it worked.

Perhaps if people gave an instructional command use, then a practical example it would save time.

Works great by the way, thank you.

So I have;

WHEN:

{{smartremote_charging_<Remote1>}} = true

Macro|AV|< 3 >~SendKey~SLEEP!

For my remote called Remote1, with an ID of 3.
This does not work, what am I missing?

Change to:
AV|3~SendKey~SLEEP!

and you should be all good.

EDIT: whoops you guys beat me to page 3. Glad you got it fixed!

Hey, thanks for your efforts.

So far I have mixed feelings. I know this is a great product, with LOTS of power, but the instructions and software are letting it down.

I can see however, that David is doing a sterling job of supporting as much as he can. This is half the problem, he's a remote control genius, where most of this is Childs play to him, we are entering his world and realising, "WOW there are actually request commands to a server for a simple button push".

David is a genius, I'm happy and frustrated to be here learning.

CasaP, please keep in mind, this IS a Kickstarter. No promises were made that it was turn key.
It's a LOT easier to do anything today then it was a month ago.
Documentation continues to be added, updated, fixed.
YouTube videos have been created to provide high level understanding.
Feel free to send us your TeamViewer ID so we can check in on your system.

This is the most powerful handheld remote control ever made. It's very difficult to make customizable also easy. But it's as close as anyone has gotten.

Not aware of any Kickstarter remote control that delivered on it's promise - till now.

Since this is working on my system, it's a configuration issue on yours
Is the SmartRemote still device ID AV1?
If so, enable TeamViewer access so I can see what's up.

I managed to fix it (at least it is working now).  Yes the remote was still AV1.

But for reasons I couldn't work out, the Android TV driver had just stopped working (or at least had stopped communicating with the Smart Remote).  I deleted the Smart Remote as a device in the Android Driver screen and readded.  Re-adding was oddly painful (autodiscovery didn't work for a while - at first I thought something had changed in the developer settings on the Remote - but everything seemed to be as expected).   It did find the remote on perhaps the third sweep through the local IPs.

The remote was re-added (assigning it a new device number AV33).  I edited the device to change AV33 to AV1 (as it was previously and as it is per the automation).  And then the remote now goes to sleep on being placed in the charging cradle as required.  Log shows it now working as required.
