You would leave the Emby server where it is.
You would then need to figure out the Player. Like Roku. Or Nvidia Shield.
Then, add the Emby client there. Then, connect the appropriate driver to your player within myServer.
Then launch that player's UI within Smartremote. Launch Emby player. Use Smartremote to control it.

I also misunderstood what the current capabilities are. My apologies!

I already have the Emby client on running on all of my Nvidia Shields and it's easily controllable with the SmartRemote. I thought this would allow for seeing the currently playing media on the remote itself, kind of like the Kodi setup.

It's all good though. It would be great if this happens. If not the current setup works great for me.

Do you have any home assistant experience ? I've seen a couple guys do this with plex using the media player "entities" on ha. Below is my roku entity playing from jellyfin.

Yes, seeing the coverart is definitely one of the features that will be available. Navigating the content is another.  This is the stuff that got our applications on the map years ago.  It's just work to get it done on the myServer 6 platform.

I have just enough experience with HA to be dangerous to myself and others. Not nearly enough to be competent lol

Frankly, I'm not a big fan of Home Assistant. Lots of YAML needed to do any of the things I wanted to do and nothing seemed standardized when I was originally poking around with it. Use HACS to do this thing, use this other thing to do something else, etc, etc. Granted, that was a few years ago and I'm aware that HA has come a long way since then. I still have my HA server around here so maybe I'll spin it back up and take another look. Thanks!

Lol.. seeing what you've done with the smart remote, you would be very competent with ha these days.
They've gotten it so nearly everything can be configured using the UI, yaml coding is still an option but no longer a requirement unless you're adding things that don't have integrations.
Just figured it may be a viable stop gap for you while allonis gets their integrations sorted. 🍻
