That would be terrific!  I believe I have the myServer setup and some of the drivers for my AV equipment are connected to the server.  The next piece would be getting the SmartRemote connected.

Now that i am at the Designer page with no UI development experience  i’m struggling on how the communication between the Designer, Remote and server work.  I have the Roku template with all the channels and buttons showing on the PC from the //”myServerIP”/smartremote/ webpage but when I go to the myServer and the smartremote the Roku page is blank except the “Roku Ultra” heading.  How does the smartRemote get updated with changes or new templates from the designer?  Where can I find out how the communication between the 3 pieces works, it would give me a better understanding on how the architecture of the system works.

It could be that the {{active_roku_{{clientname}}}} server variable isn't defined. I found that when I was messing with the appleTV driver last night. I haven't figure out exactly where that's supposed to be set but I think it's when you click the appleTV/Roku button on the index page. I just manually created it in the server and it started working.

I seem to remember that I think you are right.  You are already figuring this stuff out!!!
But I also seem to remember that was fixed.  One might need to delete the macro and add back the device to be controlled (the Roku) so that myServer can auto create the right macro with the right settings.  I seem to remember it was spaces in the room names that tweeked the system...and there are two variables...one with spaces eliminated and one with the native spelling ie: Living Room instead of livingroom

Tom, make sure you (on the SmartRemote) are selecting the user and room at the top of the screen.  These settings are per client (the Smartremote is a client, so is a PC browser).  Those selections is what populates the right icons for the location you are trying to control.

And to answer your question on how do new templates get updated on the SmartRemote, from the Home page, click the three dot button.  This will open a page built into the smartremote.apk (the "app" running on the SmartRemote hardware).  This will allow you to shut down the app.  And then, click the SmartRemote icon on the AndroidOS desktop to reload the apk.  The apk will then pull the latest webpages from myServer (the new stuff).

I had deleted all of the drivers late last night and re-did all the setup with all of the latest software updates thinking maybe it had been already fixed. So maybe there is still an issue there.
