That might be....will need to test the individual TV. The driver can only do what the TV supports.
Possibly that was with the Frame TV I remember had issues.

I'm guessing Nillaz was worried about this in the docs which was another reason I'd want to know in advance I was buying the correct model for best network control.

This is exactly what I was referring to. I don't even have my remotes yet I'm just trying to do my due diligence and get all my ducks in a row for when they arrive. I did purchase a couple hours of remote support so I'm sure they can help me work through it if I really get stuck.

Just keep in mind...if the TV doesn't support a function, not likely that the driver will be able to address that. And not any other control system will be able to either. We haven't had that particular problem, but that's likely related that our commercial business typically uses video matrix and never switches inputs on the TV.

Also, since the driver supports many TV models, just because the command to go to a "discrete HDMI input" exists in the driver's Command Builder, doesn't mean that that command is supported in that particular TV.  Certainly let us know what works / doesn't work and we can research.  We provide full support for Samsung TVs as they are certainly very popular (LG and Sony too).

If you wanted to upgrade the installation to a centralized source architecture (video / audio matrixes) then we certainly can provide all that is needed.

It occurred to me that for our setup we could indeed do without source input switching on the TV as we have an AV amp. Do the commercial Samsung TVs come on automatically when you apply mains power, and do they come on at the same input that was last selected? If so we could just use a smart socket and turn the TV on and off completely via that.

Other than the FrameTV, we haven't had any issues with Samsung TVs consistently turning on their HDMI1 input. It might also be turned on the last used HDMI input...either way, it hasn't been a problem.

Thanks. Panic over for the meantime anyway - it turns out the last time I had to yank the power for the Harmony hub in order to get it to start responding again I inadvertently dislodged one of the IR blaster cables, specifically the one dedicated to the TV. Lesson learned.
