Samsung BE55 TV suitable for myServer 6?

We've just had a TV/amplifier/source apocalypse while my wife was watching (trying to watch) TV and I was in the bath... This makes me want to get away from Harmony and on to a more sophisticated system even more urgently. The Sky+ box got out of sync with Harmony so whenever Harmony tried to turn it on it was turning off and vice versa - the perils of just having a power toggle not discrete codes. And the TV apparently wasn't responding to its power on commands even using the Harmony's "Help, let me fix it" function. Anyway, it's made me think about turning my eyes to a more biddable TV. We've currently got a Samsung UE55 (2012-ish) model and I see that Allonis sell the business-focused BET55. It doesn't look like that's available in the UK or maybe it's been replaced, but I have found the  BE55 which looks like it might be a replacement. Would I be right in thinking that this should support full network control via a myServer 6 driver including discrete power on and off over the network and confirmation of status? If not, any other suggestions?

The great majority of Samsung consumer and commercial TVs are supported via IP control by myServer 6.
You install the correct driver for the TV. Most consumer use the Tizen driver. All other use the "Samsung
TV" driver.
You enable External control in the TV menu. Add the driver. Configure the IP address for the TV in the Driver. Send an authentication token via the driver's UI. Accept the token on the TV using the handheld factory remote. There, that's it. Control most all of the functions of that TV.

Can you use either one of these drivers or is it one or the other depending on the model? I ask because the (limited) research I have done so far has led me to believe that one of the Samsung IP drivers has the ability to use discrete codes for HDMI inputs and the other "guesses" which input should be activated (I assume based on receiving a signal from the source device).

I definitely would not want to be having my set guess the input. If it comes down to it I can always fall back on IR codes but I'd really like to avoid this if possible. My ultimate goal is to have as many devices as possible being fully controlled via IP. There's too many downsides to bluetooth, IR, CEC, etc. for my liking.

Don't worry...once you get the right driver for the TV, you will have excellent discrete immediate control.
there haven't been too many exceptions...FrameTV seems to come to mind as having some small issues...

The choice of driver is usually which port is opened when External Control is enabled...if the driver doesn't talk to the TV, then try the other driver and remove the wrong one (removes on next myServer restart).
 

I appreciate the clarification!

I'm guessing Nillaz was worried about this in the docs which was another reason I'd want to know in advance I was buying the correct model for best network control.
