Backup and Restore was created by Chrisan
Is there no backup and restore function in V6 or am I just missing it?   The reason I ask is I'm going to move everything from a flash memory card to a USB drive.   This was suggested in another discussion and makes sense.   I was hoping to move the small amount of work I've done so far plus perhaps the licensing info and avoid activating again.

I used this feature on V5 one time and it worked great.
Thx

There are commands to backup and restore in myServer.
This has documentation on it as well.

Sorry I didn't see the documentation. I did check scheduler before I posted suspecting something might be there. No command in the drop down for backing anything up appears. I only see lighting, climate, etc. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I do see a choice for system macros but nothing available there.
Thx

Edit:  I also can't exit the Task Scheduling page by hitting return.   Just stays stuck on that page.

From Dashboard Home, click the wizard cap on top right
Then click the Hammer icon on the left.
This is the list of myServer commands.
Like: BackupDatabase and BackupLicense and BackupTemplate and RestoreDatabase etc.
Scheduler can be configured to run those commands (or a macro you build with those commands) at weekly etc time intervals.

You really don't need to schedule backups...if you do configuration work one night, just back it up when you are finished for the night. During every day use, nothing really changes except TVGuide data, but that gets refreshed on it's own nightly anyway. Same with Weather. So, nothing changes inbetween your manual configuration changes.
