Configuration and Setup was created by Sonnie
Trying to initially get the Great Room setup so I can understand how to add devices, etc. I can deal with more rooms later.

I tried to add devices in the Dashboard per the instructions. It did not discover any Sony devices, so I had to manually add our Sony TV via the IP address. I have a Dish Hopper, but there is no driver for it, so I can't add it at this step. The only other device is the Lutron Caseta hub, but it did not discover it either. I'm not going to manually add that for now. If I can get the Dish Hopper and Sony TV setup on the SmartRemote, that will be a start, but at this point there has been no instructions on adding a Hopper, so I moved on to the next step.

I am now at myServer Configuration - Part 2. I renamed the smartremote-sample to smartremote... but I can't get past looking at the SmartRemote because of the white then blurred screen. I am stuck on this screen.

What do I do from here?

Adding to this... I did attempt to add the SmartRemote IP address to Android TV using the following command, but it has not add it.

I TeamViewered in.
I added your SmartRemote in the Android driver.  but you provided 0.190 which is myServer IP....this is supposed to be the SmartRemote's IP address is entered (not myServer's).  SmartRemote doesn't seem to be on the network.  Restart the SmartRemote (long Power button on the side press), and start with the documentation fresh.

Your Sony doesn't seem to have External control enabled.  Needed.  Otherwise the connection is refused.

The Sony TV setting for Simple IP Control was enabled and myServer discovered it, so at least I got that done.

I see an Nvidia Shield added, which I do not have here in this house... it's down at our cabin.

Unfortunately... the SmartRemote is stuck on the blurred colored screen. A long power button press does restart it, but it restarts it to the blurred screen and I am unable to control any functions from this point. Even if I press any of the buttons I see temporarily, such as Settings, etc, it still goes to a white screen then a blurred color screen.

Does the SmartRemote not have a factory reset procedure?

This is what I see in chrome://inspect/#devices

It's like the remote is bricked... I've tried everything in the book on the actual remote, but it still goes to the blurred colored screen.

Can I send this one back and get a fresh one?

Seems like a lot of work for a remote. Instructions are written with a lot of assumptions, not for dummies.

I am sure the remote isn't "bricked".  It very likely has been misconfigured.
Your Chrome:Inspect shows that the remote either isn't on the Wifi network subnet that myServer is on, or it's not powered on (unlikey?), or most likely, you have the wrong IP address for myServer configured in the SmartRemote's settings.  You may also have chosen the wrong folder name on myServer's wwwroot template (default is "smartremote").

Feel free to call us at 248 918 0123.
We also offer our Pro programming / configuration service.
No, the system isn't for "dummies".  But it is ESSENTIAL to follow the documentation line for line (yeah, I know you have read that before).
We'll get you home.
