This is a freshly built Windows machine.   The Zip file was downloaded into Downloads and decompressed.   I went to Data > Windows and hit "MyInstaller"   I got the error below.   Also tried running it as Administrator but got the same result.  Thx, Chris

Unhandled Exception: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\HA_Server\Downloads\Allonis\myServer-6.8.179.37639-win-x64\data\windows\downloads'.

Don't recognize that error. But:
We don't recommend using Windows at all.
Use a Raspberry Pi and the Master Image.
Run it 24x7.
Not sure why you would be installing it to your Downloads directory. Typically it would be in the normal Program Files (X86) directory.
Once it's put into the folder, open up permissions to the myServer.exe and the folder.
We will be putting together a regular windows Installer setup.exe shortly to make this all easier.
But at the end of the day - don't install on Windows. Many features will never be supported on Windows and Windows is far less stable than Linux for an automation controller.
As you know, we used to be 100% Windows but it got impossible to maintain a reliable system due to all the required changes Windows interjects.  It took years of coding to make the jump, but we are SOOOO glad we did.  Take advantage of that ability to move to a Raspberry Pi.

I know absolutely nothing about Linux but I did build up a Linux machine with the thought it would be home for my new V6 server and played around with it for a while.   I found the learning curve to be too steep and abandoned the idea.

You shouldn't do that....
Do this
allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=166
You don't need to "build a Linux machine". You just follow the above on a Raspberry Pi4 /5 with 4 or 8 gig and be done.

I had the parts to build the Linux machine and wanted something more stable than Windows.   So I built it.   :)

But, I tell you what, I'll pick up a Raspberry Pi and give it a twirl.   I probably know even less about the Pi than Linux.   I've never even seen one, except in pictures.

Thx.

As someone who was also pretty much exclusively a Windows guy, I can say that the way that the Pi is setup using the Allonis master image is not that difficult to grasp.  The desktop is very windows-like.  Most of your configuring is going to be using the Dashboard via a browser and you don't have to do much directly on the Pi.  The only change I had to make was setting up a static IP.  I'm planning on figuring out how to remotely access the desktop but I'm not there yet.
