myServer Controller Customizations

What about upgrading to pi 5, I know storage speed makes a big performance difference with MyServer since the pi 5 has PCI-e and a NVME drive can be added. Would that and the increased cpu power be worth it.

Anyone here on the forum using pi5 with experience with running myserver on pi4

A Pi5 with a nvme is nice because it boots fast. But no real difference in use.
Some of our video features require a Pi5 / OrangePi5Plus (the MediaMatrix driver). But if you aren't using that, so real need for a Pi5.

FYI I'm guessing my Pi 4 died because of a overheating issue, MyServer seems more demanding then Home Assistant. The case I was using ran HA for years but with my server it was really hot to the touch. Since Was getting a new case with better cooling I wanted to add a M.2 drive as well. Between the board and the case it was only 10 dollars more for the Pi5 and significantly faster.

You should look into our new Modular case and put both HomeAssistant Pi and myServer Pi 4/5 in same nice rack or shelf mounted case.
myServer uses a trivial amount of cpu on a regular basis. Similar to HomeAssistant.

That would be nice to have all my stuff in a dedicated server rack, someday maybe. Right Now I have a wire utility shelf with all my stuff on it.

Note that the modular case doesn't require rack ears and transforms into a shelf mount AV device
