MyDesigner6 window frames misaligned

Brand new user here, and trying to get Designer to work.

Unfortunately, the inner frames inside of Designer are not being placed properly, misaligned and also covering up labels. The main tool bar on the main window, one cannot see the labels underneath the toolbar icons as they are covered by the frame below it. When running the Smart Remote emulator, the button overlay frame is not over the button image (resizing the emulator window just misaligns it even more).

I tried re-installing the Designer, and now the designer doesn't see the file share on myServer anymore, so I no longer have any project files in the Designer (they are still there, of course). The Dashboard through the chrome browser is still visible.

Running Windows 11, no VM, Chrome, and Designer version of 6.0.1344.41143. MyServer is version 6.8.25.39734.

I think I need help.

As a new user, you don't need to do anything with myDesigner. That is only to custom modify the user interfaces. Our recommendation is get everything working nicely using the standard included webpages first. Not sure what you are seeing in myDesigner, but we use the same software to design thousands of user interfaces.

The covered up labels and what not is most likely a Windows scaling problem. Check in your windows display settings if you are outputting at your monitors native resolution and 100% scaling.

Nillaz,

Thank you, that was the cause of the misalignment. My main monitor was set to 150% (the system recomendation).  When I reduced it to 100%, it appears to have corrected the label issue. Of course I am not entirely sure that it fixed the entire problem, since I no longer seem to have access to any of the project files.

Tomorrow I will look again as to why the Designer has lost the capability of accessing the myServer file share.

BTW - I am brand new to Allonis, but I am a refugee from another similar product ("The Home Remote", which appears to have ended development),

No problem, and welcome aboard!

Check your paths in myDesigner's settings popup. The file path should be formatted something like \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\myServer, where the x's are obviously your servers local ip, and the webserver should be formatted as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/

If all looks well there it could be a permissions issue. Several of us had similar issues back at launch. Check the Windows Credential Manager to ensure that you have an entry for the myServer IP address.

Apologies if I have you chasing down possibilities you've already checked!

Yes, as it turned out, it was a permission problem. The network share requires a username/password to accomplish the connection. Interesting as I cannot find anywhere inside of the Designer to enter credentials.

Is there a maintained list of bugs for Allonis software? Reducing to 100% makes everything on the screen very small and hard to read. Not an urgent problem, but Allonis might want to look into this as the smallness is hard to read, especially for older people.
