Directv Osprey Box was created by bitzerjd
Has anyone configured a Directv Osprey Box (not the Gemini Wireless device) to integrate with the AndroidTV driver?  I have IR working, but would like to have IP control if possible.

Thanks!

I think we did test that but wasn't impressed from my dim recollection.
Are you able to turn on ADB / Developer's Options? That would be essential.

I searched through the menu options and don't see it listed. Home Assistant did pair to it (using their Android TV Integration) so I had some hope it was turned on automatically.

I was hoping that someone else figured it out.

Thanks

If HomeAssistant paired with it, so should myServer....No magic.
Hit the "Build" like 7 times to get the ADB developers menu working.
You can also use the HAGateway to use HomeAssistant....but shouldn't be needed.

I did try it briefly, but I agree with David's recollection and I also wasn't impressed.  Similar to the Shield and my Sony TVs, I enabled Developer Options on the Osprey and paired it with MyServer.  IIRC I had to do this a few times but it finally stuck.

The problem, like the Shield, is there is a significant lag between firing a command and the box responding, and I find it quite annoying.  For some reason it works great on my Sony TVs.

The documentiaton for this is here , and IIRC it's quite similar to the Shield instructions.

My long-term plan is to set up IR control and use that.  I've been out of town recently and haven't had the time to set this up, so I've just been using the Osprey remote as an interim solution.

The delay makes it a no-go for me. IR is fine, it works and is fast. The Global Cache IR codes work perfectly.

Thanks for saving me from going down another rabbit hole.
