Charging Cradle Light

Smartremote works great!  The theater room is full dark when in use, so the light from the charging cradle is quite distracting.  Any way to program this light to be off?

Not really. I dealt with it by putting some carefully applied electrical tape around the perimeter of my charging cradles. This obviously blocks the light all of the time but you have to look at the dock really closely to tell that the tape is even there.

Thanks for the reply.  If it's not possible to disable the light via programming, I think I may plug it into a z-wave appliance module and incorporate on/off commands into the scene automations.

lol Now why didn't I think of that? I even have a few extra ZWave plugs here that aren't doing anything special at the moment.

Zwave plugs are great for things like that. I even programmed my cell phone to automatically shut off the power to my magnetic charge pad when the cell phone reaches 100%. Maybe a little less wear and tear on the cell phone battery :)

There is a small button on the bottom of the charging hub to turn light on / off.
There is no programmatic way to control it, other than your nifty Z-Wave solution...note that the SmartRemote won't charge when the base has no power :)
