Short press no longer working

Oh that's very clever (using the slider control for swipe). Thank you for all the detail - it will definitely help me and other people implement it.

Thanks Andrew I thought it was clever as well. Still not sure how I will make it engage automatically but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Today short pressing buttons stopped working again. The only thing I did was install the most recent Linux OS updates.

I didn't mention this before, but I've been updating the JS with every myDesigner update pretty religiously for several months now. I didn't want to say anything the other day in case my brain melted and I missed it on the last myDesigner update. In this case I definitely didn't miss updating anything because there hasn't even been an update to myDesigner since I resolved the problem a few days ago. I'm already on the latest version.

I also want to clarify something: When this happened the other day updating/optimizing through myDesigner itself did not fix the problem. I had to manually delete the JS folder from the smartremote project folder and copy over the folder from the sample project to my live project. Doing this again also resolved the problem today.

I had a very similar problem over the weekend. For me, my hard buttons stopped working. Doing the updating/optimizing did not fix it. My fix was to uninstall myDesigner, reinstall it, and do the update/optimize.

While working on a neat project (more details to be provided soon!), we uncovered what looks like the issue with hard buttons / short / long press not consistently working.
The fix will be in the next myDesigner update.  Update myDesigner, and then update your SmartRemote project folder.
fxSmartRemote.js file has some fixes in it.

The latest javascript ships with myDesigner. You don't need to manually uninstall it. The installer does that anyway on it's own. Once myDesigner latest is installed, then update all of your web projects (including smartremote).
The code that handles the short / long button press is in that javascript.
It's possible you need to clear cache on the Smartremote hardware to ensure you are getting the latest javascript from the smartremote template when it loads.

Linux OS updates shouldn't affect button presses at all. Those OS updates don't touch the software that runs on the Smartremote (the javascript).
