Smart Remote built in IR?

I can't recall if this was mentioned elsewhere, but does the smart remote support IR from the remote itself (it looks like there might be a window on the end)?  In my living room, I think everything is supported but my Paradigm PW soundbar.  I'm not sure it supports IP control, and I imagine if it does, it won't be supported anytime soon, so I think IR will be the way to go for that.  A globalcache would be way overkill for this.

Yes, the SmartRemote can "shoot" IR from it's emitter in the nose.
