Increase a Variable Formula?

This should be easy, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.  I want to change the "step" value for volume with a button push.  The functionality would be the same as the Backlight adjustment on the "about" page.  Press the Increase button and the "step" value is increased by one....Press Decrease, and it goes down one.

Can anyone help with the syntax?

I use an Onkyo audio receiver, which is a little different than other receivers. The Display volume level is about half what the internal volume setting is (and I do mean "about"). So volume increases are a little bit problematic if I want the remote display's volume to match the receiver display. So I resort to having system macros and server variables for handling volume changes.

My question is that isn't the volume step going to be dependent on the device that you are controlling, not by some value held within Allonis? And does your AV device even have the capability to change volume step?

(I guess I should also ask what device is being used.)

I already manually adjust the step value by buttons, one for Step 3, one for Step 4...  The Step variable is only used on audio devices that support it.   It is also reset once you exit that device.  The ask about the formula was to simplify the UI and provide more options without taking up more screen space.

I have two buttons and a label between the buttons. The Label shows the "steps" value, and one Button increases the value and the other decreases the value.

One other piece of Allonis Magic...  The step buttons only show up when the audio device understands "step"

I have cursed at this remote more than once...but when it's fully configured and working properly, it is a thing of beauty!
