IP2-IR for Harmony Hub replacement

I notice that some of the Allonis users also have Harmony hubs (probably a lot of us).

I opted out of the GC ip2ir when I got my initial SmartRemote delivery, but I am thinking that may have been an oversight and a hedged bet with my existing Harmony hubs.

For those that have made the transition - should I be working towards eliminating the hub and migrating to the ip2ir? I feel like I am nowhere near having a usable SmartRemote system yet, but I'd rather implement the right hardware from (nearly) the beginning, instead of trying to reuse the Harmony activities and IR control.

Yes, move to IP (where drivers exist for your IP hardware), and then IP2IR for any infrared remaining devices. Then you have moved off of the Harmony ecosystem and don't need to manage two systems. You are then insulated from Harmony stopping support.

The Harmony driver is nice to quickly leverage your existing Harmony system.  But longer term, I would move to native myServer control for speed and simplicity for any devices that has myServer support.

Technically either can work but I agree with David. The ip2ir is the way forward. Not having to juggle 2 systems is worth the investment.
