myServer Backup License Idea/Question

I like having a hot spare of my critical systems.  For example, I have a Home Assistant instance ready and waiting to go...all I need to do is install the backup and I'm up and running.  It would be great to have the option to buy a second license (as a placeholder) with limited functionality (meaning lower cost).  All I need is it to be on-line and getting updates.  If my primary server fails for any reason, I can just copy over the backup and be up and running quickly.  FYI - I have the trial up and running on a spare deskpi pro box I had lying around.

David - any interest in doing this? I have the money!

It looks like this capability exists already.  In the dashboard under the Configuration menu, there is a Data Mirroring option that will copy things to a secondary server.  The notes on the page indicate a second full license is needed (versus a limited license like you were asking about).

 

Thanks, I never really looked at that option before. I might just bite the bullet and purchase the right license. It would be nice if there was a discount for the backup system license. Most likely it will never be used....hopefully!

That functionality hasn't been completed yet...
I know the piece that doesn't exist yet is the hot failover. Not sure if the replication works yet or not (might).
