Sony VPL-XW5000es Projector was created by cjr181
Working through a new SmartRemote / myServer6 install and things are going smoothly thus far. I've got communication established for FireTV and Marantz AVR. Now trying to add control for my Sony VPL-XW5000es projector. It is a very popular projector at the moment. Communication protocols for this projector include: Advertisement, ADCP, PJ Talk (not to be confused with PJlink, which I have read is not the same), DDDP, SDDP. I've noticed the "SonyTV's" and "PJLink" drivers, but before a lot of trial and error, I wanted to see if anyone has experience integrating this projector into myServer.
Appreciate your thoughts,
CJ

If you enable PJTalk on the projector then you should be able to use the PJLink driver to control the projector. Otherwise we'd need to write a driver that talks ADCP protocol.

Enabling PJ Talk unfortunately did not work. I'm not too surprised, however, since the default port for PJ Talk is 53484 and PJLink is 4352. I changed the port in the PJLink driver settings to 53484, however still didn't work. If a new plugin is needed, I've included some literature that I've found regarding the communication protocols Sony uses (couldn't find a protocol manual specific to the VPL-XW projectors, however):

For my purposes, I'll need IP communication (not RS-232), and for the time being I only will need this to turn on and off the projector (I only have 1 source connected at the moment).
Appreciate your assistance,
CJ

I just released a SonyVPL driver for their projectors that use ADCP protocol.
The driver will give you some basic commands, Power, Select Source, Change Aspect Ratio. Give it a test and see if it works.
Please remember to change these settings on the project first.
1) Go into the projector's WebUI. Then under Advanced Settings enable ADCP.
2) Under the ADCP settings disable requires authentication.
3) Enable “Remote start on” in the projector settings.
Then use the driver's "AddProjector" command to add it to the system.

Thank you for creating this driver. When I click on the "Configure" button for the driver, the dashboard disappears (just the background remains). I deleted and reinstalled the plugin; restarted myServer a second time, but no luck.

I suspect a browser cache issue on Dashboard as I had to change JavaScript. Flush your browser cache and try again.
