My remote is stuck with the spinning circle. I've tried reboot multiple times and also rebooted myserver same results. What are my options?

Whats the history...have you been using the SmartRemote already? Was it configured to connect to myServer to the proper folder? Did you do a ForcedUninstall to upgrade the smartremote.apk?

Yes it was fully functional and connecting to myserver before hand. With no upgrades or changes for at least 3-4 months. The remote wasn't making great contact with the charging base and we didn't notice for a few weeks. So battery was dead. After re-charge it shows the animation and just the spinning circle.

Push and hold the Power button to attempt to do a Power Down. Hopefully that will work. If not, send the remote back and we'll try to restore the firmware.
I suspect the power cycle got unlucky and corrupted a bit in the memory.
Computing devices should never be allowed to do ungraceful power cycles.
FYI, I posted an Automation Rule that alerts any / all web clients that a particular SmartRemote is needing to be charged. There is a variable that tracks current battery %. Use that as the Trigger. Then, the Action of your choice for alert.
