Volume Buttons sporadically working/not working

Has anyone had an issue with the Volume buttons (or any other hard buttons) on the remote?  I can press the down volume, hear it click but no command is sent.  If I push it harder it works most of the time.

It's not a big deal, just a new annoyance

Yeah, I've been there. I wore out the dpad on my main remote from repeated keypresses.

I expect this is going to happen to my other remotes as well, though those don't get used as frequently as the one downstairs so may take longer for issues to present themselves.

This is one question I was wishing for no replies... My remotes are used heavily and have only been in use for ~4months. Buttons should not wear out that fast. My URC remotes lasted forever.

I agree. Given the money involved here it's not an unreasonable expectation that these should last longer. I've already replaced that remote but that's the end of the line for me. I can accept damage from normal wear and tear over time but I'm not going to replace these every 6 months.

I made a post about this several days ago asking Dave if it's possible to implement a change for me to help with this but haven't received a response yet.

From some of the conversations early on during the Kick Starter I believe this is a long term commitment and investment for Allonis. At some point I think we'll see a revised updated smartremote learning from there mistakes. Unfolded Circle never really delivered on all there promises and are allready taking orders for Remote3. Hopefully if or when SmartRemote2 shows up Allonis will give a generous discount to first gen users.

100% agree. I started a thread about a wishlist for SmartRemote2 a while ago (after the Remote3 announcement). I really like the server software and would absolutely purchase a new and improved remote if available.
