New SmartRemote setup; home page is blank, no users or rooms available was created by jgus
Hi! Finally setting up my kit now that my home theater equipment is installed.
The setup documentation is pretty scattered, so I may very well be missing something, but I _think_ I have myServer set up. I've added a few drivers, and verified that test commands can turn on/off my projector and my lights, as a barebones start. I installed myDesigner, connected to the server, and renamed the smartremote-sample to smartremote. I charged my SmartRemote (I think - it seems to have come fully charged out of the box, or so it claims,) booted it up, connected it to my wifi, then connected it to my server. I can see in the myServer dashboard that the remote is connected as a client. On the remote, tho, I just get a blank blue home screen - blank except for a bar at the top with an empty circle and an empty(?) battery icon. Clicking anywhere on that bar brings up a page that says "Users" and "Rooms" but with no users or rooms, and a "Close" button.
How can I debug this?

So, I saw that the other (web) clients connected to the server used skewer-casing, while the client name I entered for my remote was Caps With Spaces. On a hunch I changed the client name to skewer-casing and it now seems to be working

I updated the smartremote documentation to advise that the folder names are case sensitive as this is running Linux. Glad you got your working! So, I saw that the other (web) clients connected to the server used skewer-casing, while the client name I entered for my remote was Caps With Spaces. To be clear, I left the folder name as the default "smartremote" - the problem was the client name. I don't remember the default, but I changed it to "Theater Remote". Changing it to "theater-remote" got things working.
