Light on Charging Stand

Is there a way to modify the behavior of the light on the charging stand?  The ring is very bright and in a dark HT it is very distracting.  As a quick fix I'm going to add a smart plug and cut the power when the HT is in use.

There is a button on the bottom of the base to turn the light off. The base is not digitally connected so there is no automatic way (via myServer or the SmartRemote) to interact with the base otherwise.

I pushed it, but when you put the remote back in the base, it turns back on. Maybe as a suggestion for future hardware is make the switch on/off (all modes), or turn the light off when you lift the remote off the base.

The light on mine pulses while the remote is charging and turns off completely when I lift it from the base.

Is there more than one mode controlled by the button? I'm not able to test ATM.

Mine pulses when charging and also when the remote is lifted off the base.

I believe there are two modes and they are controlled by the button on the bottom of the base.

1. Ring light is on when remote is off of the base.  Ring light pulses when charging.  This is the default mode
2. Ring light is off when remote is off of the base.  Ring light pulses when charging.

I have noticed that sometimes mine requires a longer press to change the modes.
