Sounds & Remote Startup Config was created by bitzerjd
Is there a way to play sounds?  For example, when using a long press, I want to play a "beep" when the command executes.  As a use case, one press of the power button turns off the device, holding it down turns off the entire system.

Second question, how do I access the setup page for the remote (the one accessible when you first turn it on)?  I just saw the youtube video and I didn't grant access to the microphone and need to do it.

Suggestion - I have a super complex wifi password, it would be fantastic if when the device is turned on it would flip into AP mode and allow you to set the basic config via a browser window (like tasmota devices).  Fat fingers and a little keyboard is a bad combination

Thanks

I'd also like to play sounds on the remote. I did find a command called PlaySound and I've only played with it a tiny bit but so far haven't gotten it to work.

There is a page in the smartremote configuration called about.html that has commands to change wifi, exit to the android desktop, etc. I have significantly changed my remote's configuration so I don't remember exactly how to navigate to this page on the default layout.

Worst case scenario is that you could create your own buttons that will take you to these pages. If you do so put in the corresponding client commands as follows:

SetupWifi - takes you to the android wifi configuration
ResetDefault - takes you to the page where you can change the name of your remote and point it at your project folder
ExitApp - shuts down the smartremote .apk and takes you to the android desktop

Hope it helps!

Thanks, I can add some more buttons :-) Configuring this remote has been a huge learning curve for me.

Yes, there is a way to play sounds on the SmartRemote....I just have to remember how...I am sure Dave will chime right in with an exact answer...you basically leverage the browser...

You would need to click HOME then the three dots (bottom right) and Exit Smartremote app.  Then find the michrophone settings in Android Settings (I can't remember where that is hidden off the top).

I like the idea of the AP mode...not sure the hardware supports it, and certainly the current firmware doesn't.  So, good idea to consider.  Thanx!!
