So, there is something called "Virtual Switch" in HomeAssistant - and those user defined devices aren't populating in the HAGateway?
Is there a consistent means to create these Virtual Switches in HA system ie: all users who create these end up with the same type of device?
Can you post this in the HAGateway thread so it gets captured as potential future feature add?

Did you install adb (for Shield control) when you installed HTWebRemoteHost?

I was just wondering if there would be a conflict with installing adb again on the same pi that the my Server is also installed on 

I don't think you need to install adb. It should just work with the adb that's already installed on the rpi.
