Samsung QN55Q80 will not pair

My QN55Q80 (~2017) will not pair. I've tried ports 1515, 1516, and 55000 per the documentation. This TV pairs successfully with both Hubitat and Home Assistant. Both drivers are open source if that may be a way to track the issues down. Also, the Hubitat driver links up with SmartThings app (no hub required) to enable more possible control parameters.

I have the same thing with a UE55HU7500 (even older than yours, circa 2013 I think). I can't get any of the Samsung TV drivers to recognise it but Home Assistant is fine with it.

Note there are a few Samsung drivers.  Use the one for your TV.  If that doesn't work, try the other.
there aren't any modern Samsung IP controlled TVs that we have had no luck with.
And we have done thousands.

OK, got it. The issue was using the wrong driver. The documentation got me a little sidetracked. From the documentation:

"On newer Tizen OS TVs (about 2018 and newer)".

According to Samsung, the Tizen TVs came out starting in 2015.  Six Advantages of Tizen OS on Samsung Smart TVs - Samsung US Newsroom

Samsung doesn't even publicize Tizen much as a feature. I'd suggest renaming the drivers. The current Tizen to something like "Samsung TVs (2015+)", and the other "Samsung TVs (legacy)". Note some drivers on other platforms use the year cutoff as 2016.
