Ras PII HDMI out stopped working.

I'm fighting thru thru learning curve and making progress:)

When I got to the part of the Apple pairing procedure that requires you to run terminal on my physical rackmount MyServer,  i tried to view on the monitor connected to the top HDMI port, I don't get a display (I did before)? I can remote into the dashboard also, so its running.

Could it be a bad HDMI card/port? I tested the monitor and HDMI cable on my laptop they both are working.

or could it be the wireless keyboard/mouse not activating/waking the HDMI video output?

Please help.

 

Also, all Linux and Allonis updates are checked and installed if needed every 2-7 days. before posting this question both were checked and updates/reboots were completed, no improvment.

I'm running myServer in a virtual machine, so I can't answer your hardware question.  But there are other ways you can open a terminal.

The first is to go to Utilities, and select Linux Terminal.

Another way is to download PuTTY.   putty.org/index.html

Since you are running the Pi version of MyServer, you can get to the terminal through the dashboard. Click on Utilities on the right side where you update the software, and below Linux Updates is Linux Terminal. Click that, and you will get access to the terminal. The username and password is allonis.

If you would like full access to MyServer without connecting a monitor and keyboard, I suggest setting up VNC. Log into the terminal, type "raspi-config". Under interfaces, select and enable SSH and VNC. I use RealVNC Viewer on my Windows box to access MyServer.
