Dual Network Config?

Is it possible to add a USB Network Dongle off the Deskpi and have two separate Networks configured?  I know it works in Linux (same as having the Ethernet and WiFi going at the same time), but I'm wondering how the myServer app would handle it.  

The reason for this config is because my Global Cache devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting from the network and I want to run them on their dedicated network...simply the myServer, a 5 port switch, and the two Global Cache devices.

I separated this from my other Topic because the Dual Network config might help others.

Yes it will work. I don't remember anything special from a networking perspective to enable that within myServer. Just add the ethernet / usb dongle, and in Linux terminal window you should be able to configure the network. I would back up the files that your are going to modify first.

FYI - My Cable Matters USB adapter plugged in and was seen right away. A couple of Ifconfig commands later and it was alive! I now have an isolated network.

Are the GC devices connected via WIFI or hard connected?  If Wifi, then consider improving your wifi architecture as that will benefit all wifi devices, right?  The key to wifi success is the wifi client's RSSI value in terms of its connection to the wifi access point. It goes from the -30 db (perfect) to -80+ (bad). Search the internet and you will get a lot of good information on this subject. 

But, to answer your question, standard network principles apply. 

Hardwired... I wouldn't trust Wifi for something this critical to system operations.
