Scheduled Task Confusion

Scheduled Task Confusion was created by bitzerjd
I'm a bit confused with the options on the Scheduled Task setup menus.  I have a simple task I want to run every 1-2 hours.  If I choose hourly, it has hour, minute, am/pm.

Is that the start time, and then it runs every 60 minutes?

The use case is simple, my Tivo Mini will timeout after 4hrs and prompt if you are still there.  I basically want to send a command to the tivo every hour or so just to make it think it is still being used.  I'm using the scheduled task to run a macro called...wait for it....keepalive!

Thanks!

Well, if all else fails, you could create a loop that uses the "Pause|" command. Of course the loop should exit by checking to see if the Tivo is still powered on.

I did a quick hack and created 4 separate tasks each running at a specific time.

Being able to create timers would be the solution here IMO.  Hopefully this feature makes its way over from V5

I agree. I switched it back to a single hourly task. The command issued does nothing, but it does keep the Tivo thinking it's in use and it doesn't disconnect and go to sleep.
