Changes Not Saving was created by cjisble
The last update I installed of MySever updated the smart remote template The Kodi volume controls and OK button no longer work.
This is not a surprise, as I made changes to the Kodi scene. I went back to MyDesigner to redo my changes. At this time I also updated MyDesigner to the latest version.
When I open the Scene Properties and look at the Hard Buttons, OK has no Short Press command, and Mute, Volume Up, and Volume Down all issue the Kodi commands. I delete the volume controls, so that the buttons control the volume on my AV processor by default. I also added the Kodi Select command to the OK button.
I saved the scene properties and re-open them. Volume Down is back to the original command. The new OK command was not saved. Volume Up and Mute were successfully changed.
I tried changing the settings one at a time, saving the Scene Properties and then the entire Scene after each change. I managed to get all the volume controls cleared, but when I change the OK button, it won't stick, and all the old volume controls came back.
This is pretty basic functionality. What happened?

I hand-edited the html file, and got my remote working again.
However, something funny is going on with MyDesigner, at least on my machine.

There are two things that tripped me up in the past: Making sure that the server file system permissions are set correctly, and making sure to press save for the button AND for the form itself. Forgetting that second save will cause me to wonder were those darn changes went. I make sure to press the save and reload form, rather than just save.

If the file permissions were wrong, I wouldn't be able to save anything. In this instance, some changes are saved and others are not, in the same html file.
I've made the mistake of not doing both saves in the past, so I am careful about that now.

Thanks. All good points. There are two things that tripped me up in the past: Making sure that the server file system permissions are set correctly, and making sure to press save for the button AND for the form itself. I believe I have figured out what happened. If I change a hard button and hit save, it doesn't save. If I change a hard button, select a different hard button, and then hit save, my changes are saved.
I suspect that all i needed to do was to first hit <Enter> after making the change. Anything to commit the change and not leave it only in the UI, should work.
It would be nice if the save button did a check of the UI to see if there were uncommitted changes.
