New SmartRemote sample...what should I do? was created by zshaiken
When I opened myDesigner, I see that there is a new SmartRemote Sample project. I assume this is from the last update. What should I do with this? What is included with the update?

The sample project is just that...a sample framework. When you are first setting up your remote you should rename this project to just "smartremote" and use that for creating your layout. This is done so your project doesn't get overwritten with a new sample framework in future updates.
If you already have a smartremote project going you don't need to do anything with the sample at all and can safely ignore it.

These questions and a lot more are covered in the documentation. It is very important to read step by step the docs. You will save yourself TONS of time and aggravation. When I opened myDesigner, I see that there is a new SmartRemote Sample project. I assume this is from the last update. What should I do with this? I don't believe that's true. There are javascript changes that the new template has that should be incorporated into your existing projects. For example when they added the ability to press and hold the directional arrows and it would repeat the command while being held. This is an area that I think could use some refinement because if you've customized your html pages it's kind of a pain to update your custom project. I've been copying over the javascript folders from the sample to my project. Then I usually click the "Update Project" button in MyDesigner. I'm not exactly sure if that's necessary because I'm not really sure what it does. That seems to be working but I could be missing something. Since I've re-written most of the HTML pages I don't worry about updates to those but if you have a semi-custom page there's no good way to know what's been updated without manually looking through the HTML page to see if you should incorporate those new changes. If you already have a smartremote project going you don't need to do anything with the sample at all and can safely ignore it.

My understanding was that bringing over the latest js updates is one of the things the update project button does but I could certainly be wrong.

Update Project updates the Javascript in the selected folder. Always good to do that post a myDesigner Update (or if something isn't working / displaying as expected).
