Smart Remote IR setup was created by Sat32
Trying to setup IR blaster in smart remote
I installed the generic ir control from software updates
in management>drivers genericIR configure I added my remote
using the command GenericIR|AddController~SmartRemoteIR~SmartRemote~<remotesIP>~Living room
Then added IR database Marantz reciever
by going to management>ir database>ir command testing and found my equipment in the drop downs
then i went back to management>drivers>genericIR in command testing I selected sendIR in the drop downs i selected all the right equipment for my system executing command did nothing.
the system events showed an ir command was being sent
so i pulled out my phone camera to see if the blaster was firing at all and nothing
Then I went back to documentation and did this
Add your SmartRemote to your activate-room.roomname macro:SetVariable|{{activeroom_{{clientname}}}}_smartremote_id~61!"61" is the SmartRemote's ID in the GenericIR driver - this is to tell myServer that you will be using your SmartRemote to control your IR devices in the "Study" room.
I thought it meant i should go to management>macros go to the edit the macro i wanted to use the ir baster in and paste that line in to the macro
activate-room.living room
"SetVariable|{{activeroom_{{clientname}}}}_smartremote_id~61!"
minus quotes. So that didn't work in fact living room disapeared from sources and apps by room and is no longer available in the remote
where did I go wrong

So this isn't valid?
allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=130
I followed the directions best I could
Discovery didn't find the smartremote but directions doesn't say it will mentions finding GlobalCache IP2IR device.
So I manually added the remote my command:
GenericIR|AddController~Name~SmartRemote~IPAddress~Living Room
changing "name" to RemoteIR and IPAddress to the ip address of my smart remote. And I doubled checked it just to be sure.
The command I'm using to test is a simple power off/on for a Samsung TV
also using phone camera to see IR emmitter.
The system event log shows ir command is being sent
But nothing works

Got it going!!
it was the "name" I used the name RemoteIR I gave for the emitter
it should be the "client name" you gave the remote at setup.
when the command builder said
Controller Name (Smart Remote Client Name)
I thought it meant I would be a name I wanted to separate it from other emitters
Thanks
