How to import IR codes?

Hey everyone,

I've made amazing progress with the smartremote today and finally I feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on how all of this goes together. I'm not 100% there yet but for the first time I can reliably control some devices in my system and with some further tweaking I'm sure I'll get all of the way there.

I do have one issue though that's going to be kind of a showstopper. My system uses an HDFury DIVA HDMI matrix. It is possible to control this via IP but there's no driver for these niche devices available in myServer so for the time being I need to use IR via an IP2IR. It's in GlobalCache's database and I installed the relevant code set using the GenericIR driver. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work at all though I'm able to control my Samsung TV, Xbox, and Panasonic bluray player using IR without issue.

I have the IR code text file from HDFury and I pulled GlobalCache's corresponding IR code list from Control Tower. Comparing them it appears that GlobalCache has an older codeset that no longer applies to these devices. My assumption is that when I install these codes in myServer it is using these older commands so nothing is working.

I see that there are options in the System IR Database/IR Command Testing options to manually import IR codes, but the How To button takes me to the default allonis.com page. Is there any instruction available on how to do this? I still have other things I can work on for the time being but I'm going to need to tackle this soon.

From Dashboard  go to IR Database. Then from the command builder. Use the Cloud Database IR Code lookup.
Select HD Fury as the brand
Select Brand Type as Video Processor.
Select the correct model. And Save.

The lookup is coming from the GC master IR database.

Saves a lot of time over a lot of copy and paste...

Hi Dave this is exactly what I did. As I said above the codes that are in GC's database are codes from an older version of this device and no longer work.

For example, here is the code to select the first HDMI input from the GC database:

They're not the same codes. Every one of them that I compared is different.

Trust me, I don't want to manually import all of these commands as there are well over 200 of them. Really I only need like 6 of them to automate my system for daily use.... 4 to switch inputs, one to issue a hotplug event if there's an HDMI handshake problem, and 1 to reboot the matrix. The others are obscure commands for configuring the matrix and I can access them through the device's built in webserver in the unlikely event that I ever need to access them.

Alternatively, if there's an easy way to learn IR codes I could just get them from my Harmony remote, but I don't see any documentation about this possibility either.

Under different circumstances I would just inquire about commissioning you guys to build a driver for this (I have the documentation) but I'm already in this for over $2000 dollars and I'd like to stay married for the time being.

You could copy the old into the local myServer IR database and then edit those 6 commands you need with the IR codecs that work.  Save.  Use.

Click in Dashboard on IR Database. Add the similar model.
You will then see the device you added to the local database. Click on it's dropdown to see all commands. You can edit each command and save.
