With the latest myServer release, Allonis is migrating from using TeamViewer for remote assistance connection to the myServer controller, to using RUST. This will allow Allonis more efficient and hopefully bug free connection to systems. The RUST connection server is managed by Allonis. As with TeamViewer, you can shut off access easily (temporarily or permanently), including uninstalling the software or enabling it if / when you want remote access assistance from Allonis support team.
Once you install latest myServer on a Raspberry PI controller (Windows or VM installations are not currently supported), the RUST ID will be on the home page of Dashboard. All anticipated future myServer releases, including myServer in the Master Image, will include RUST support. Like with TeamViewer, on most standard networking configurations, there shouldn't be a need for firewall modifications for access.
This change should also enable users to access their systems from outside of their LAN environment (ie: via the Internet) without the necessity of creating a VPN connection. More info to follow in the near future!
