myDesigner not saving hard button commands on overlays

I'm not sure if this is a problem with myDesigner or just my understanding of how overlays should work.  I looked thru the documentation but didn't see anything that mentioned this specifically.  When I create an overlay and go to Scene Properties, I see the Hard Buttons tab available.  I'm guessing that since the tab is available, we are allowed to enter hard button commands for overlays, correct?  And these commands will override any existing hard button commands from the scene?

If this is allowed, then it seems that myDesigner is not properly saving these changes.  After I add a few commands to the various buttons, I click save on the scene properties dialog and then I click save for the overlay.  I can then open the scene properties again and I see the hard button commands I entered.  But if I look at the overlay html file from the server, the hard button commands are not in the file.  If I close the overlay in myDesigner and re-open it, the commands I entered are no longer there.

Thanks

after you type in a field for a SmartRemote hard button command in myDesigner...click OFF that field (on another) and then Save the scene.

Hi David, yes, I've done that.  Everything saves properly in the UI but nothing saves to the actual file.  I also should have mentioned that I'm using the most recent version of myDesigner as well.

What do you mean saves in the UI but not in the actual file? You click Save, and the file should be updated.

You are saving to the Base page - not to an overlay - right?
edit - oh...you are attempting to mod hard button commands in an overlay - no...it won't work that way...I mean, if the base page has hard button commands defined, and there is an overlay also with button commands - who wins?  Just put your hard button commands on the base page and load overlays for soft buttons / graphics / web widgets.

Ok, got it, that makes sense and thanks for the info.  I was thinking that the last page open wins.

You may want to consider removing the hard buttons tab from the dialog when opening the Scene Properties for an overlay page to help avoid confusion.
