I assume this device will need to be controlled via IR, so I downloaded the BluRay Player IR Control Driver.
When viewed under Drivers, BluRayIR says it requires the GlobalCache driver.
So it's back to the System Software Updater. I found GlobalCache, but it says it is deprecated.
Is this the right driver for my player? Should I install GlobalCache, or not?

IR:
allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=408
If you go to allonis.com / support / Documentation and search for "Infrared", you can find this document.

Now I understand. "Drivers" are for any device that the server needs to connect to over the network. The only driver I need for controlling IR devices is the one that allows the server to speak to the IR emitter. In my case, this is the Smart Remote.
I went to: Management IR Database. In the box under Brand Name, I typed in the letter P, and it says "No Data Found". Do I need to setup the Smart Remote first, or do I have a different problem?
Note that clicking the How To on the System IR Database page sends me to the Allonis website home page.

A Driver is software to talk to hardware / software on a device.
An App has logic in it like the Weather app pulls data at a regular time cycle, for specific markets, parses it, creates variables.
The GenericIR is a driver. That's what is used for all supported IR devices. The GlobalCache line of hardware included.
What's not clear from your post - did you read the GenericIR documentation? I think that's everything you need to know.
If not, let me know what's a mystery and we will improve the doc.

This is where I am stuck:
"In myServer's Dashboard, there is the Management / IRDatabase. This is where you create your IR controlled devices like a "Samsung TV". You can look up in the cloud database your model Samsung TV and save those IR codes to the myServer IR database (in your local system)."
Either I am doing something wrong, or the cloud database is empty.
