Can't find Apple TV's

FYI - save yourself a lot of headaches and use IR if possible. Every time there was an Apple Update it broke the integration. With my luck, it would be right before the Grandkids wanted to use the system. With IR all those issues fall by the wayside.... I really wanted all my devices to be network-controlled, but with the ATV, the burps were extremely annoying.

This has been my experience as well on a different platform. I switched to using Home Assistant as a go between and it didn't break for over a year and counting.

Now I've switched to myServer and SmartRemote and it seems to be working as expected. Hopefully Apple doesn't change it again and breaks it all. If they do, I may join you on the IR boat.

I have to make the switch to IR sooner then I thought.  I had both my apple TV's working, but suddenly one dropped off and doesn't work.  I have tried everything to get it to work, but nothing is helping.  So strange that one works and another one doesn't.

Remote is great, but nothing about the setup has been easy.  I cannot get the IR to work.  Do you remember which IR file from the database worked for you? There are 3. I don't get why it doesn't work, IR should be so easy to do.

Try not to get discouraged. We've all been there. It takes a bit to "click", but once it does you can make these remotes do almost anything.

I use the standard Apple TV Gen 4 codeset.

Make sure you have your commands formatted properly. "Control|1~SendIR~Apple-Apple TV Gen 4~POWER ON". Change the number 1 to your device's proper control ID.

You can use the remote's internal blaster but for the sake of reliability I would encourage you to look into an iTach IP2IR if you haven't already done so.
