Weather Alerts - 7/27/2026

All of that sounds about right.
There are Z-Wave local weather stations that can be integrated without too much fuss....We have a relationship with Shelly and I know they have one but no driver today but we would be open to developing that.

Where is the Allonis weather provider getting weather alerts?  Hopefully NWS.  If so I don't think it's working.   My most recent test is New Orleans as it's a hotbed of thunderstorms today.  Lots of NWS warnings.   Loaded New Orleans into my weather cities and brought it up.  No warnings.  See pic.

I assume that your actual location is not in New Orleans. Allonis should be using your location (Lat, Long) to determine what alerts you get. Allonis is doing the correct thing (in my opinion) in not "alerting" me to problems that are not going to effect me. Otherwise, there would be to many irrelevant alarms. Fetching the alerts is a separate process as well, so I would not want that overhead.

That's my opinion, lets see what Allonis says.

No problems with Allonis, those guys are great.  Just a little suspicious of the weather service, that's all.  A bunch of weather alerts a while back in my area and nothing showed up in the Allonis service.   So I was doing some testing.

How have the alerts worked in your area, aa6vh?   Do they seem reliable and what NWS is posting?   We've had such steady weather in my area I can't get a good feel for them.

Flew to Phoenix today and drove up to see relatives in Sedona.  It was HOT in Phoenix and tonight I noticed some weather alerts there.   Phoenix is one of my weather cities in Allonis as I come out here often so I checked it out.   See screen prints below.  Top is NWS alert and bottom is shot from Allonis.

Alerts was supported in the code when it was written a few years ago.  Will require some testing to see if it's still working.
Have you seen if the alerts variable changes when there is an active alert?
