This is exactly how I do it. You have to add a variable or two, modify your volume macros a bit to reference those variables, and create a basic automation. After that it just kind of works and it's easy to modify the overlay duration time just by changing a value in the volume macro. That isn't going to be real easy to do. You could set some variable with the current time when the overly is first shown and then use an automation to close the overly if three seconds have passed. The hard/annoying part is going to be changing every button on the overly to update that variable so that it stays open while you're "using" the overlay.

You don't have to waste your time on the research. I just got home so give me just a little bit to get settled in for the evening and I'll try to get you some screenshots and basic instructions. Your configuration might be somewhat different from mine but you can probably adapt what I do to work with your setup without too much hassle.I saw some of your posts on doing volume I'll have to go back and look at them a little closer.
Thinking about how to do this was wondering is there a way to call a macro from a macro??
Thanks
