Please ensure you:
Are on the latest myServer (6.8 - look at the version number)
Update to the latest SmartRemote template
Have already updated to the latest smartremote.apk
Are using the latest 6.8 software (all)

Check, Check and Check...

This morning the remote was in the dock (and off), I took it out, set it on the coffee table and it was on (Motion turn on)...it then wouldn't turn off.

I had to exit the app, go into settings, set the 15sec timeout and everything was fine.

Same:
  • MyServer 6.8.67.33613
  • SmartRemote Template 2024.09.05.46258
  • Latest APK
  • MyDesigner 6.0.1355.32611
  • fxApp.js from 9/5/2024 at 11:51AM
  • Rebooted both remotes several times
This was all working great until one of the recent updates broke the sleep setting.  The backlight is working as expected.

For anyone else affected by this please email me your TeamViewer ID so I can remote in and look at your systems. It might be as simple as caching but I'd like to see what's going on.
